Kanae grew up in Fujisawa, a suburb of Tokyo. She studied French at university, worked for a startup and moved to Portland to learn web design and development skills. She loves to eat and cook. Recently, her favorite activity is feeding weird Japanese foods to her friends without telling them what it is. For example, bonjiri is chicken buttholes. Thankfully, they trust her enough to have a bite. Her favorite part of this is seeing their reactions after they figure out what they just ate.
