    Research Intern

    Moeko is a former intern at Tofugu, where she researches Japanese linguistics and writes articles. She earned her BA and teacher's license at the Hokusei Gakuen University in her hometown of Sapporo, Japan. During her undergrad, she studied abroad at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. After university, she moved from cold, northerly Hokkaido to the tropical beaches of Oahu, where she completed her MA in Second Language Studies at the University of Hawaii. Her major research interests are second language teaching, critical pedagogy, and social interaction. Besides analyzing language, her favorite activities are tennis and jogging.
