Summary
The northernmost prefecture in Honshu, Aomori is as north as you can get before hitting Hokkaido. That means its cold and beautiful.
It's home to the tallest seated Buddha in Japan. Gorgeous Hirosaki Castle is known for its cherry blossom gardens. Mt. Osore is a place where the souls of the dead dwell (or so they say).
Also legends claim Jesus moved to Aomori and became a rice farmer, so you can visit his grave there.
