As always this might work for Japan since everyone follows the natural social laws of civility, but here in Mexico rude people are sometimes kicked off because they intentionally try to stay longer than what they should giving you the excuse that the client should always be served no matter the time, this becomes a lot more annoying when in the end they don't buy a single thing. Even on stores with a specified time schedule.
I used to work in a yarn shop and when such clients entered five minutes before closing (you end up learning to point them out) we "politely" asked them whether they were going to buy something because we were about to close and wouldn't be able to sell them anything afterwards.

I was once in a sandwich shop in my old college town, and they started playing this. As soon as it started, I laughed, and said to the employees in a joking tone, "All right, all right. You want us to leave, huh?" When the chorus came on, they started yelling along with the lyrics while they all cleaned with great enthusiasm. My friends and I all left smiling.

this reminds me of a drinking session i had with my 2 friends when we visited tokyo. in ireland, the pub announces last call by flashing the ceiling lights on and off, and that means you have roughly another 30 minutes before anyone will even think of harrassing you to get out. closing is usually not until midnight or after it. we found cider in a pub late one afternoon, and overstayed our welcome without realising as we had no idea of how early the pub closed. the giveaway was the staff en masse standing close by with brooms in hand, all eyes on us. we made our most heartfelt apologies and swiftly left!

That's extra spooky because I gave up on cooking and went out to get a ¥500 Sempre pizza last night. I'm the guy always wearing a tweed jacket and walking very very quickly because I'm about to miss my train.

Your right, the "o" shouldn't be there - just sounds that way because it's usually preceded by the tired, heavy exhalation of someone who's been working all day or is waiting patiently for me to shut up and go home
