Especially if there is heavy smoking. Blek.

People seem to have no qualms about spending the little free time that they have at these places. I honestly think it’s a problem for Japanese society.

As for me, I’m very sensitive to the smoke, the sound, and the light. You couldn’t pay me to be in one of those places.

These combined factors make you think you aren’t there for too long.. And there are no clocks on the walls to prevent you from thinking this either.

No, see, THIS is how pachinko keeps you sucked in. You win small prizes, which gives you the endorphin rush to keep going – the “hey, I’m doing well, let’s try for the jackpot” feeling – which, apparently, you’re not susceptible to. That’s how slot machines work too. All the shiny lights are just incentive to get you to sit at the machine in the first place, but no shiny lights in the world are going to keep you sitting there.
