I knew baseball has been in Japan for a long time, but this was a really interesting read! And well timed, I'm still pumped from an NPB preseason game on Sunday. haha

As much as I like Japanese baseball, I just can't get into MLB. I think a big part of it is the fans. Here there are band leaders who write tons of songs and chants for fans to sing while their players are at bat. 応援歌 makes me feel like I'm part of the game and has been a great way to connect with new friends. I always wondered why Japan has it but America doesn't. :/
