due to a misunderstanding, I've come to learning about 5-10 kanji a day. My thinking being that I wanted to know the standard amount of kanji by the time I graduated highschool, (i.e. is in to years). well, the misunderstanding was that the standard was 6,000 instead of the real standard of only 2,000. I've only kept up this visciuos regiment for about two weeks, and Everynow and then I'll fall out a day. added on to what I learned before I came to the false conclusion that 10 was neccesary, I'm not at a grand total of 125, 50 of those being learned in this past week. Ten is really pushing it but surprisingly it is duable. This may be because I skip out on memorizing the number of strokes and stick to readings, what it "stands for" and how it's written. It does feel a lot like studying but I AM learning.

(just to show you how bad I might have had it [or maybe good in the long run], 10 kanji a day = 3,560 kanji a year, the goal being two years, would put me at 7,120 by graduation, which would put me at knowing more kanji than the average japanese adult.)

still, I doubt I will keep up with the 10 a day and go for a more comfortable 5 or 6.
