Hi! I have a question if I were supposedly an 8th grader, would it be possible to get a scholarship (for language or sports "table tennis")?, because I am really interested in learning other languages such as Japanese :)

Hi, I recently got a scholarship to study in Japan for a year, and I just wanna say a big thank you to Koichi and Tofugu for this post which inspired me to apply for the scholarship.

I was researching for my assignment during my internship at a publishing company when I came across this website. I saw this post and it reminded me of an email I have received, an email about an exchange program to study in Japan, and I decided to apply for it after reading this post. My results are not that great, but I gave it a shot, put in lots of effort for my scholarship essay, and I got it!

For those who are looking for scholarships to study in Japan, try any Japanese organisations in your area of in one of the bigger cities nearest to yours. Try to search on their websites and read their news or events section. You can even try those Japanese organisation in your country, but this may be more complicated as you may have to go to a further area for their interviews, and also, you may not know what they are looking out for. I think you will have a better chance doing that, because readers of this website come from all over the world, and the system is different everywhere. So, good luck! (:
