Reviews Section Coming (Back) Soon!

We previously had quite a large reviews section, and while it may look like there’s not much here, we’ll be working on adding the interesting and useful stuff back in here. A lot of the reviews need some updating anyways, so plan on some fresh looks at various Japanese language products in the coming weeks and months.

In addition to that, though, we’d like to take a broader look at things and review some other categories as well. We have a lot more writers on staff, so it’s now possible to look at some  categories we’ve previously ignored. Things like anime, movies, and so-on will be added to the reviews section as well. Eventually we’ll start categorizing types of reviews too, so you can find what you’re looking for more easily.

If there’s anything in particular you’d like us to review please let us know in the comments! We’re feeling more open-minded than usual right now :p

If you could review some Japanese T.V. shows and movies that are available on Netflix, that would be cool. ^_^

I’m going to be a highschool in Japan soon, so if you could do a review of new electronic Kanji dictionaries/ the best in the class, that would be fantastic! I’m not allowed to bring my phone with me… so reviews of iPod Kanji apps isn’t very helpful >< Thank you so much!

I’m interested in getting an electronic dictionary as well, but most of the reviews don’t make sense. Thanks!

I’d like a review of conjugation and casual/spoken speech, please.
I am a senior in high school, have taken 3 years of Japanese, and in a few months I will visit Japan for the first time where I will stay with a host family for a little over a week. I’m decent at writing Japanese, but horrendous at actually speaking, especially in past tense and casual forms.

Reviews of manga, video games, and books that are good for learning Japanese would be nice. I’ve spent the last few days trying to find a interesting book aimed at middle school students to practice my Japanese…

Hi Claire! I have a question about your program. Which program are you going with? I personally looked at ‘GenkiJACS’ but since I’m under 18, I can’t go to the location that I would like. Can you give any suggestions as to what programs?

I really like Brave Story. Fantasy setting, nice style and all Kanji are with furigana. So it is rather easy to read, although you will have to look up many words. I also like Twelve Kingdoms, however this does not have furigana on every kanji …
