So you’d like to write an article for Tofugu? Here’s how it works.
Submitting Your Article:
- Your article should be of medium length, 350-500 words long.
- It should be focused on a specific topic. We won’t publish articles that are of too broad a topic.
- Your article should be entertaining, concise, and informative.
- To submit your article, email it to us along with your name (or the name you would want to be published), the website you’d like to link back to, and a picture (if you’d like).
How We Choose
- Due to the large amount of submissions we’ve been getting, we will only be choosing one or two a month. This will be done at the end of every month, and “winners” will be notified that their articles are going up.
- We choose our guest articles based off of the following criteria: Content, style, topic, accuracy (if you have sources, tell us), wittiness, how entertaining it is, spelling, and grammar. Please be sure to spend time on your article. If we have more than one (or two) amazing articles at the end of the month, we’ll put them both up.
- We also have a list of articles we are in the process of writing (or are planning to write). This list is constantly being updated. If you write a subpar article, and it is a topic on our list, then we’ll have to choose between our own writing and yours. If you write it really well, then we’re more likely to choose yours. When sending us an article, please be sure to send us quality work!
