Yeah, losing McCann made me sad, and losing him to the Yankees is like rubbing salt in the wound. Nonetheless, he’ll have more longevity in the AL and considering that the Bravos are locked into a bad TV contract, we just can’t expect to keep all our big stars in these market conditions… Oh, and what was this article about again… ?

Oh yeah, Tanaka… I don’t usually watch Yankees games, but with his presence, I’ll make a point to catch a few. Honestly though, I just want an NL team to land the next big free agent from Japan so I might get more motivated to pay attention to the NPB (and no, Kenshin Kawakami does not/did not count).

His splitter has crazy good movement. Reminds me of Iwakuma’s split. I would’ve rather had him on the Cubs (What with the rebuilding needing some frontline starters and all) or the Mariners but that’s just how it goes I guess. But $155M + $20M posting is just insane.

Now I wonder what the market for Kenta is should Hiroshima post him next offseason.

An abridged list of teams I would rather Tanaka join instead of the Yankees: Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, Savannah Sand Gnats, Oakland Raiders, FC Barcelona, my mush-ball team (The Chi-town Chippers), the Alan Wood real estate team in downtown Rochester, basically anything that can be called a team.

We got to have one whole year of the Yankees not being the Yankees, and then they sign McCann away from my team and buy Tanaka just to force me to watch all their games (or 1/5 of them I guess).
