It’s The Annual 50% Off TextFugu Happy New Years Day Sale!

You probably know the drill by now. It’s New Year’s, so a Forever Subscription of TextFugu is 50% off!

And, because it’s semi-permanently $20 off right now, I’m doing 50ish percent off of that lower price, and making it $49 instead of the regular $60. With that $11 you could buy a lot of Pocky. “I can’t remember ever pricing TextFugu this low,” says the used car salesman living inside of me.

As some of you may know, and as I’ll get into more detail in tomorrow’s State of The Fugu Address post, we’re working on a new version of TextFugu, which will cover a lot more material than the current version and span beginner through advanced and then get you working towards fluency. It’s a much bigger project so it will probably have a higher pricetag once it’s all said and done (for the Forever Price). That being said, anyone who has a Forever membership of current-gen TextFugu will be getting a free upgrade. In the past I limited it to certain groups, but now it’s going to be everyone until the new version is ready for signups.

TextFugu will be on sale for around a week. Last day of the sale will be on January 7, 2014, so you have some time to think about it / dig through the couch cushions for loose change. I hope you all had a wonderful New Year, and let’s be sure to learn a ton of Japanese (and other things too) in 2014!

    the price of the Lifetime subscription to $99. It’ll stay that way until
    the new version is out.

    I wouldn’t complain, but I’m sorta pinching MAD pennies right now.

    Just paid for my first month of Textfugu as a trail run a couple days ago, I initially was wanting to try the lifetime deal for $99 but was concerned that this update may never happen from what I’ve been reading. Mostly concern that those involved are a lot like myself, biting off more than one can chew and wanting something too great to feasibly build. Either way, I am not quite done with Season 2 yet and already find it appetizing despite it’s “different” nature which comes across less ‘professional’ but far more useful than most other resources I’ve paid for. I do like the style of the pages though throughout all of the Tofugu kingdom, not that it’s a big deal but it does hand itself to the idea of working in a clean environment. It’s just zen. Knowing I’ll probably be using this a bit more than 3 months, I’ll take your offer!

    Hey Koichi, I terminated my Tofugu subscription because I’m unsure of my financial situation in 2014. I paid 40$ though – if I sign up again and pay the 9$, can I still get the lifetime subscription? That’d help this starving art student out a lot :-)

    (Also, I’m happy to see things are moving for TF! That was one of the reasons I wasn’t sure whether to get a lifetime sub, but your plans are sounding really good.)

    The rule for upgrades from monthly to forever are “$20 above the current forever price” so you’d have to pay $29 to upgrade, I’m afraid. If you’d like to just email in though, I’ll help you out.

    Hello Koichi-san! I have been a Wanikani member on a monthly plan for a few months now, and decided to go all-in. Got the Textfugu forever plan, how do I go about upgrading to the Wanikani yearly plan with the Textfugu rebate? Do I need to cancel my monthly plan first?
