Also, you’ve made me want to try ginjo sake when I get the chance :D So far I’ve just tried the junmai available from Gekkeikan and Sho Chiku Bai (at least I think those are the only ones I’ve tried… it hasn’t been very many). Haven’t been to Japan yet either, so… yeah.

I’ve also heard of amazake (and I’d like to try that too), but I believe the alcohol content in that is pretty low compared to the other types of sake.

It was pretty low quality so my shochu experience thus far has not been good, lol. I didn’t see anyone else drinking shochu while we were there, but we were hanging out with girls the whole time so that’s probably part of the reason, haha.
