It’s the more common way of saying 英国 (eikoku). イングランド (ingurando) means England. You can check your dictionary if you like.

But more than that Arkansas is the world’s largest exporter of rice alone and when you conbine that with all the other states rice, we export a lot of rice. Japan likes rices, gets some from us, thinks of us as a country of rice. Sounds like it makes sense to me, I don’t know if it happened like that though.
