The Starbucks that serve alcohol and coffee isn’t that bad at all and I’m not a fan of SBUX. They have set up trial stores for the past few years in Seattle and key cities in the PNW. I wouldn’t say its for added sophistication, but to cater and jump into the growing market. The PNW is a very prime microbrew/homebrew culture (the coffee drinkers also tend to be also into the microbrews, at least around here) and the rest of the US is starting to get into it too.

So… Adding alcohol makes something more sophisticated? I figured Starbucks was ‘sophisticated’ enough with all those grumpy business men and women that like to crowd the place and glare at you for enjoying yourself. That’s why I only go there at night, but now they have alcohol…
I think the whiskey + double down combo is more to make it so that you can throw it up easier and save the calories though.
