Funny you should say that. Overall, Japan’s a very safe country, but the two things that are stolen the most are bikes and umbrellas. If you ride a mamachari, you’re pretty safe, but anything that even looks like a real bike . . . well, you better have a good lock.

Beats my neighborhood. i went down to the coffee shop to mooch wifi and my bike got stolen…and my lock. they took a bolt cutter to my lock :| which is why im moving to japan :<

Many, many homes are kept unlocked in the more rural parts of Japan. It’s just that safe. Except for the occasional drunken bastard staggering in :)

The problem is that any single number/criteria can’t accurately rate fitness. BMI is flawed because athletes with low body fat but high muscle mass can have very high BMIs. Waist measurements aren’t really the whole story either. I just wish there was a better overall way to rate/gauge fitness…
