I really liked the Karate Kid article. Read it now for the first time after seeing it on this list. It was a real eye-opener and really cemented in my mind the fact that Japan would chew me up and spit me out.

It really helped me come to a decision about whether or not going to live in Japan is something I should carry on pursuing. In the end, I don't think I will.

I really like how at the top there is a picture of Guy Fieri at the top for the discussion of sushi abominations, Lol.

Out of these Hashi, I really liked the Tohoku-ben dialect, got to learn of the different dialects in the different regions of Japan and how there are some vending machines that actually speak in Tohoku-ben dialect in big cities (such as Tokyo) to help them understand.

Ahhh the Cup Noodle museum... the first step to making America actually seem relatively healthy! Not that I won't make the trip sometime soon...

The Karate Kid article was one of my favorites. Good humored and quite thorough (I'm saving it in case any friends decide to take the plunge and wind up, err, discouraged after the initial glee phase of living/working in Japan).

Oh, and since the article Tohoku-ben is my dialect of choice for teasing the fiancée... Nothing could be more horrifying than a 6' 1" fuzzy-looking white guy slurring in Tohoku-ben while "learning Japanese" (and imagine if there were any people around...!). Heh.
