Scarier Than Shark Week: It’s Kanji Week On Tofugu

I’m sure a lot of you know about Shark Week, but did you know about it’s slightly scarier and far less interesting sibling Kanji Week? Well, it’s happening, and we’ll be spending this next week covering various subjects regarding kanji, the bane of every Japanese learner’s existence. Every day this week there will be 1-2 articles that have something to do with kanji, which means you should subscribe to the RSS feed if you want to get them all (or follow the Kanji Week Tag)! Although there are plenty of articles already planned (and a few already written), feel free to leave kanji-related requests in the comments section of this post. I’d love to help answer some of the more popular questions as we go through this horrifying kanji-filled week. See you soon, Daddy-O.

One of my favourite parts of learning Japanese! I think that one of the easiest things to do if you're learning a language by self-study is stock up on vocabulary, and kanji is vocabulary in pictures!

I love kanji, although it is pretty hard,it's kinda fun!Especially when you can read a sentence with kanji.

i like how the kanji for “kanji” looks like one really stressed person sweating profusely, eyes bulging and in a catatonic stupor, next to a person with their head in a vice.

If Einstein said that imagination was more important than knowledge, he might as well have been taking about kanji. As your post and these earliest comments suggest nothing tickles the brains sensitive learning bits than a good dose of kanji study.’RRawr

I got all excited about the fact that I was able to read and comprehend 漢字. I don't know that much yet, but everyone has to start somewhere!
