Happy Birthday, Koichi!

That’s right, you guys. October 23rd (aka Mole Day) is Koichi’s birthday!

He’s turning 23, so he doesn’t get any cool new rights, but I’m sure he’ll have lots of fun, anyway.

    It was sad…in chemistry, in high school, the teacher said (of course, on the 23rd, but I didn't know anything about moles)…

    “You know, everyone. Today, is a really special day. October 23. Does any of you know why today is special?”

    And here I thought the teacher loved me…turns out my heart was crushed that day.

    it's funny and it's got something to do with kanji if you're learning chineseeeee
    today, on a popular american radio show (NPR) – they were describing how on the voting election ballots, that in certain neighborhoods, they “translate” the names of the presidential candidates so non-english speaking could perhaps recognize the name phonetically – otherwise, if you only had the names in english, and they could not read english, they could not vote accurately.

    I thought it was funny that McCaine in Chinese would sound like wheat victory polite.
