Very cool. Disqus might take a second or two to get used to, but it looks very nice, I think. Also, I would love to see some actual Tofugu merchandise in our Shop!

Oops. My post gave the impression you are free to assign multiple points to one comment. This is not the case. You are free to assign one point or take away a point per comment.

Points are an indicator of how many people approve of your comment. Each comment starts off with 1 point. Anyone that is registered is free to give or take points to comments posted. Usually you'll give points to someone if you find their post funny, informative, etc. Inversely, if someone is being an idiot or a troll, then you are encourage to take away a point from their comment.

The points you get from your peers is then summed up and listed on your profile. This is an indicator of your overall reputation.

You can give or take points by clicking on the up/down arrows to the left of the commenter's profile picture. Up assigns +1 point, down assigns -1 point. Fairly simple.

We encourage that people use this feature with some restraint. Assigning points freely defeats the purpose of having the system.

Also, comments can also be organized by "Hot" or "Best", which is dependent on the point system.
